Hotline Successes

The National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) regularly submits tips to law enforcement, government agencies, and/or local service providers about potential situations of human trafficking.  The NHTRC also requests outcomes from agencies to find out what happened on the ground after receiving our tips.  The outcomes received by the NHTRC are dependent on the voluntary response of our tip reporting contacts.

Outcomes provide valuable information about the impact of the NHTRC and local anti-trafficking actors. Outcome data also informs the broader anti-trafficking movement of challenges, trends, and strategies for intervention.

The following chart reflects voluntarily-reported outcomes provided by agencies receiving NHTRC tips. This chart reflects a total of 605 outcomes from 412 cases out of the 1,436 cases that were reported by the NHTRC.  This represents a response rate of 29% for voluntary outcomes from law enforcement, service providers and/or government agencies.

The NHTRC began the Call Outcomes collection process in 2010 and this data is representative of only a selection of NHTRC calls. The chart does not reflect data on every case that the NHTRC has reported and a single case may have more than one outcome.
