Call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center at 1-888-3737-888 to obtain local referrals, safety planning information, or to report a human trafficking situation.

Call if you or someone you know:

  • is being forced to have sex against his or her will
  • has had his or her ID or documents taken away
  • is being threatened by or is in debt to his or her boss
  • wants to leave his or her job but feels he or she cannot

Operators are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Interpreters are available for up to 170 different languages for those callers that require interpretive services. All calls are strictly confidential.

General Safety Tips:

  • Trust your judgment.  If a situation/individual makes you uncomfortable, trust that feeling.
  • Let a trusted friend/relative know if you feel like you are in danger or a person/situation is suspicious.
  • Keep all important documents and identification in your possession at all times.
  • Keep important numbers on your person at all times, including the number of someone you feel safe contacting if you are in trouble.
  • Make sure that you have a means of communication (cell phone, phone card), access to your bank account and any medication that you might need with you at all times.
  • If you are ever in immediate danger, the quickest way to access help is to call 911.
