Crisis Response Team

We work closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement to do direct crisis intervention and assessment with potential victims of human trafficking through our Crisis Response Teams. The local Crisis Response Teams are made up of Polaris Project staff and volunteers who are experienced and specially trained to provide crisis intervention to victims of human trafficking. The staff members are on-call to respond to victims 24-hours a day.

We respond to law enforcement raids, Assistant United States Attorney calls, calls directly from potential victims, referrals from the National Human Trafficking Resource Center, and calls from other agencies. Staff members are able to provide emotional support, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, emergency housing coordination, transportation assistance, and emergency social services support.

A significant portion of our current clients come through crisis responses, and many of the victims continue to be in contact with the Client Services staff to receive long-term services.
