Visit President Lincoln's Cottage in Washington, D.C.

President Lincoln’s Cottage, in partnership with Polaris Project, is hosting Can You Walk Away? Modern Slavery: Human Trafficking in the United States in the Robert H. Smith Visitor Education Center. The exhibit is part of a year-long commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Lincoln developing the Emancipation Proclamation at President Lincoln’s Cottage.

Can You Walk Away? will be open for 18 months, from February 17, 2012 through August 31, 2013. Hours of operation: Tours on the hour, 7 days a week. Visitor Center open 9:30am-4:30pm Mon-Sat, 10:30am-4:30pm Sunday. For more information on President Lincoln’s Cottage, click here.

  • March 2012 Polaris Project New Jersey: First Annual Human Trafficking Training and Commuinity Collaboration
  • Fall 2011 Happy Hour Fundraiser: Fall 2011 Polaris Project Fellows raise money on behalf of the organization.
  • Polaris Project New Jersey Happy Hour: PPNJ hosts a night of music and fun to help end human trafficking
  • 2010 D.C. Stop Modern Slavery Walk: More than 2,000 Washington, D.C. community members came out to walk for a world without slavery. 
  • Ralph Lauren Fundraiser for Polaris Project: During this event Ralph Lauren agreed to donate a certain percentage of the day's sales revenue to support Polaris Project.
  • 2011 D.C. Stop Modern Slavery Walk: More than 2,000 people came out to walk against human trafficking and raised more than $80,000 [and still counting] to support anti-trafficking organizations like Polaris Project.
