Give Monthly by Becoming a Sustainer
Become a Sustainer and join our group of dedicated supporters by setting up a recurring monthly donation. Wondering how much to give? A gift of $25 each month would be a meaningful contribution. But our Sustainers give at all different levels. You will be investing in freedom for the victims of modern-day slavery and enabling Polaris Project to increase critical efforts to stop human trafficking!

Give Through The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the annual workplace giving program for federal employees.  Each year federal employees and military personnel raise millions of dollars for charity by choosing to donate a portion of their payroll.  If you or someone you know works for the federal government, please consider making a donation to Polaris Project through the CFC.  This year, Polaris Project
is participating as a member of the federation Human and Civil Rights
Organizations of America.

How do I participate?
Every region has its own CFC Office.  During the enrollment period of September 1, 2009 – December 15, 2009 federal employees are provided with a pledge card or web address to indicate the charity they are interested in supporting.  Simply designate Polaris Project by including our CFC #97210 and EIN #03-0391561 in the spaces provided.  For more general information about CFC, visit http://www.opm.gov/CFC/ or contact our Development Officer, Jessica Trease at 202-507-7961 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.

With your support Polaris Project will provide critical services to victims, create stronger protections for victims, and operate the main hotline on human trafficking for the United States.  Please donate to Polaris Project CFC #97210 through your campaign.  Thank you for your generous support!

Give Stocks or Securities
Polaris Project accepts gifts of stocks and securities that have appreciated in value. This is a quick and popular way donors can support the anti-trafficking movement and access the significant tax breaks allowed by the IRS.

Give Double by Utilizing a Corporate Gift Match
Many companies have matching gift programs which double, or even triple individual, tax-deductible donations made by their employees. Please consider magnifying your contribution by asking your human resources department about your company's matching gift program. If your employer offers this benefit, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for further information on how to complete the corporate matching process.

Give a Planned Gift
With a planned gift you can leave a legacy that will support our efforts to make the long-term, systemic changes necessary to end human trafficking. There are many options for you to choose from that will maximize your philanthropic goals and minimize after-tax costs including:

Bequests. Helping others can be your legacy by providing now for a future gift by including Polaris Project in your will or living trust. This is one of the most popular and simple ways to give.
•  Memorials and Endowments. Discover a powerful way to make a gift in your name or in the name of a loved one while realizing tax benefits for your kindness.
Life Insurance. Making Polaris Project a beneficiary is a wonderful way to fight modern-day slavery if you have an unneeded policy.
•  Real Estate. Donors of property that has appreciated in value receive a charitable income deduction for its full fair-market value and possibly other tax benefits for properties held for over one year.

Your attorney or advisor may ask for the following information:

Image"I am a mother of two and a client of  Polaris Project.  Polaris Project has changed my life.  It’s extremely hard to get back on your feet after going through what I’ve gone through.  They give me a safe place to stay in an environment that feels warm.  They are comforting and do all they can to uplift me to do what I have to do to get ahead."

Kimberly, who had been kept in pimp-controlled prostitution since age 15, called the Polaris Project hotline for help while her trafficker was away.  For many years, the pimp had forced Kimberly into the sex industry. Kimberly had made a previous attempt to leave her situation, but her pimp had located her, physically abused her, and forcibly moved her to another state.    Polaris Project staff connected Kimberly with a law enforcement officer within 15 minutes.  The Call Specialist then remained on the line with Kimberly until the officer arrived at her location and she was safely removed.  Staff then connected her  with local service providers to access resources and services to support her recovery.
