Clients: Victims of Human Trafficking
Salary: $30,000 – $32,000
Languages Required: English and Spanish, Korean, or Russian

Position Description:
Polaris Project is seeking an Outreach Specialist to assist in implementation of a comprehensive outreach program to survivors of trafficking in persons in New Jersey.  The position will be based out of the Newark Office.  Under the supervision of the NJ Outreach Coordinator, the Outreach Specialist will conduct direct victim outreach and community outreach services.

Emotional maturity, stability, and resilience are required, along with excellent social skills that facilitate authentic, empathic, and friendly communication. Experience, comfort, and sensitivity working in multi-cultural environments are required.  

Client Population:
Most clients will be survivors of sex trafficking or labor trafficking. Clients will include foreign national survivors, particularly Asian, Latino, and Eastern European, as well as U.S. national survivors of trafficking in street prostitution, brothels, strip clubs, and escort agencies.

Requirements:
- Spanish, Korean, or Russian
- 1 or more years experience in outreach or social services (including internship and practicum)
- Demonstrated passion for social justice, human rights issues, and women’s issues
- Experience working in multicultural environments
- Resiliently positive and energetic attitude; strong stamina for long work hours
- Emotional maturity, stability and resilience
- Commitment to involvement in activist community at Polaris Project
- Confidence in managing staff, Fellows and volunteers
- Comfort and sensitivity when working with survivors of commercial sexual exploitation
- Driver's license
