K. Zisman, MSW | Client Services Supervisor
Katerina Zisman ("Kate") currently serves as Polaris’s client services supervisor. Within the department she oversees the case managers, as well as creates and implements policies and procedures involving direct contact with trafficking survivors. Just recently Kate has geared most of her efforts to our New Transitional Housing program which will open June 30, 2008. Whether it’s personally counseling clients, or speaking with other agencies or government officials on their behalf, Kate spends her time as an advocate for the survivors of human trafficking.Her previous work experiences include: Working at one of the highest ranked Public Defender’s Service Offender Rehabilitation Division, located in Washington DC; being a social worker at Hearts and Homes for Youth; and also working at the DC Superior Court, Child Guidance & Family Counseling Clinic. Kate holds masters in Social Work, and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology with a minor in criminal justice. She is also a licensed graduate social worker, a certified trainer in CSEC, and has Sand Tray Training with Dr. D. Preston-Dillon.
