Craigslist Drops Erotic Services Section | May 13, 2009

Yesterday craigslist announced that it will drop its "Erotic Services" section, which has been connected to sex trafficking, and replace it with an "Adult Services" category that will be monitored by craigslist employees.  Fox News talks with Ambassador Mark P. Lagon, Executive Director of Polaris Project, about this development. Click here to watch the news story.

Polaris Project has directly witnessed a dehumanizing misuse of the "Erotic Services" section by sex traffickers, and we have engaged with Jim Buckmaster, the CEO of craigslist, to assist in taking much needed steps to stop sex trafficking pimps from using craiglist to fuel commercial sexual exploitation.

We applaud craigslist for closing the "Erotic Services" section, and we will continue to work with the site to help ensure that this change leads to a real action and that the site is no longer used by sex traffickers.
