C. De Los Rios, Ph.D. currently serves as Polaris Project’s Director of Client Services. Prior to becoming Director of Client Services, C. De Los Rios, worked as a Case Manager in Polaris Project’s Washington, D.C. office, providing direct services to victims of human trafficking. Dr. De Los Rios has vast experience working with trafficking victims and for years has trained and provided consultation to law enforcement agencies, social services providers, college students, and to the academic community in general. C. De Los Rios has years of experience managing social services programs in Latin America and the United States
Dr. De Los Rios’ research and published work have focused on immigrant women and minority groups in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area. Her record of achievement is extensive and includes the following:
- University of Maryland Baltimore County - Dissertation Fellowship Award “Latina immigrant women: Ethnicity and identity
- University of Maryland - First Place Award for best research in Social Sciences "Gender and identity in a community of working class Latina immigrants in the United States
- Maryland Office for Refugees and Asylees - Recognition of excellence for the work with asylees and refugees in Maryland
She has been noted for her work in the areas of equality and justice for minority groups, and the struggle to end violence against all women.
C. De Los Rios has a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy and Culture from University of Maryland, a M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and a B.A. in Psychology.
